Hello there. My name is JP Williams. I am Cybersecurity Analyst located in Austin, Texas.

I started my professional career off working in the project management office at Grand Canyon National Park. I was a Project Coordinator and later Project Manager who specialized in historic preservation of listed National Historic Landmark structures for several years. Part of this included setting up a Historic Preservation Maintenance trade group within the Engineering department, co-authoring several Standard Operating Procedures on the restoration and repair of historic architectural elements, and creating a standard submissions template for federal project review.

After several years in management, I made the decision to pursue a lateral move into a technical IT role and never looked back. I’ve come to realize that I greatly prefer the challenge of working with difficult issues hands-on rather than watching from the sidelines.

Currently I hold an active Cisco CCNP Security certification, as well as a specialist certification in Cisco Security Identity Management Implementation, and several CompTIA certifications (Security+, Network+, and A+).
